Shipping, returns, warranty, safety.
How we ship, what you can send back, what we stand behind, and the safety sheets you should read before you open a bucket.
Changes to these terms land on this page first, with the date at the bottom.
Shipping
Ships anywhere in the lower 48, by ground.
- Kits ship by ground carrier within the continental United States. Alaska, Hawaii and international orders: ask first and we will quote it.
- Orders placed before noon Eastern, Monday to Friday, leave the same or next business day. Transit is typically 2 to 5 business days.
- Epoxy is temperature sensitive. In winter and high summer we may hold a shipment a day to avoid a weekend in a truck. Bring buckets indoors on arrival and let them sit at room temperature for 24 hours before mixing.
- Shipping is estimated by weight in the cart and confirmed before you pay. Orders over 80 lb (three floor kits or more) ship freight; we quote it before you pay.
Returns
Unopened, 30 days.
- Unopened, undamaged kits and pigments can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price. Return shipping is on you unless we sent the wrong thing.
- Opened resin, hardener or mixed product cannot be returned. It is a chemical product and we cannot resell it.
- Damaged in transit? Photograph the box and the damage within 48 hours of delivery and send it to us. We replace it.
- Ordered too much? Unopened extras fall under the 30-day rule above. Ordered too little? Tell us the batch and we ship a matching top-up.
Warranty
We stand behind the material.
- Every Cosmic Epoxy product is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects and to perform as described when mixed and applied per the instructions in the box, on a properly prepared surface, within the working and cure windows we publish.
- If a product is defective we replace the product. Because we do not control surface preparation, moisture, temperature or application, the warranty does not cover labor, removal, or the cost of the surface underneath.
- Not covered: application over unprepared, contaminated or wet concrete, mixing off-ratio, use outside the stated temperature range, or damage from abuse after cure.
- Not sure your slab is ready? Send us photos before you pour. A five-minute check beats a redo.
Safety and technical data
Read before you open the bucket.
Epoxy resin and hardener are skin and eye irritants before they cure. Wear nitrile gloves and eye protection, ventilate the room, and keep pets and kids out until the top coat is dry to the touch. Cured, it is hard and wipeable; use a cutting board on a countertop.
Safety and technical data sheets for every product: email hello@cosmicepoxy.com and we send the PDFs the same day. Downloads are coming.
Timing, defined
Five different clocks.
| Term | What it means | Metallic floor, 70 to 75°F |
|---|---|---|
| Working time | How long the mixed batch stays pourable and pullable in the bucket and on the floor. | About 45 minutes |
| Recoat window | When you can put the next coat on without sanding. | 12 to 24 hours |
| Walk-on | Light foot traffic in socks. | 24 hours, 48 is safer |
| Furniture and vehicles | Move things back in, park on it. | 3 days furniture, lifted not dragged. 7 days vehicles |
| Full cure | Final hardness and chemical resistance. | About 7 days |
Colder rooms slow every one of these clocks. Below 60°F, wait for a warmer day.
